Hello,

Spring is here!

HERD will be playing at EuroJazz 2012-festival in Mexico next week. One concert in Cuautla on 9th, and two concerts in Mexico City on the 10th of March. Really looking forward!

In March and April there will be some really nice concerts with my own groups in Finland. Including brand new duo with one of my favorite musicians, bassist Jori Huhtala. Check out concert calendar!

Year 2011 included very interesting work as a musician. Some highlights include HERD's 1st prize in European Jazz Competition, debut album "Live!!" and also the debut gig of my new band, Panu Savolainen Proprius. Also worth mentioning are the concerts at the main stage of Pori Jazz Festival (with Olli Hirvonen Quartet and Kerkko Koskinen Orchestra) and the Opening Ceremonies of the new Helsinki Music Center (HERD feat. Aili Ikonen).

In 2012, I'm looking forward to play with the old and also some new groups. Besides Finland, I will be playing at least in Germany, Poland, Mexico and Netherlands.

I would like to thank everybody who came to hear these concerts in 2011! Have a wonderful 2012.

Hey!
This week I was recording some nice music for YLE Broadcasting Company with guitarist Varre Vartiainen's group, including Timo Lassy, Ape Anttila, Sami Kuoppamäki, Olli Haavisto and Eero Raittinen. Nice sessions, more about this in the future!

The second album of the lizard-jazz-group Fredator, "Rebirth of the Bad", will be released soon. We will play a release gig in Helsinki on Saturday 17th of December, stay tuned for more info!
